Induced Lactation (Breastfeeding for Surrogate / Adoptive mothers)
Breastfeeding an adopted baby is something that is not usually considered possible, but with correct guidance and medical advice it can very much be achieved and will help in building a strong bond between the adoptive mother & the baby.
It is important to note that adoptive breastfeeding can never be exclusive and almost always has to be supplemented by top feeding
Sufficient lead time to start treatment before the baby is born / adopted is a prerequisite to successfully induce lactation.
